Which RoadVac is in my RV?
The badge is usually behind a panel you cannot get to, and six models share one housing. You do not need the badge. Two questions about how the vacuum behaves will identify it — and if you cannot reach the unit at all, the dust bag will.
The one test that always works
Count the openings on the dust bag.
One opening → Y10
A single cardboard collar. Your unit is a CS-6, a CS-8, a CS-8HW or a Dometic CV1003.
They are not interchangeable. The two bags sit side by side on a shelf and look almost identical. Fit the wrong one and it will not seal, and an unsealed bag puts dust straight through the motor.

Reading a model number
The vacuum has a model number. So does the bag.
This is where most wrong orders start. People know their vacuum is a "CS-8" and assume the bag is just "the bag". It is not — Y08, Y10 and Y11 are model numbers in their own right, and the one printed on your bag is the most reliable thing in the whole coach.

Not every InterVac in an RV is a RoadVac
If the bag says Y08, you have an RM.
The RM is a separate InterVac power unit. It is remote mounted like a CS-RM and looks much the same behind a panel, but it is a different machine: rated to about 1,500 sq. ft. rather than 900, and it takes the Y08 bag. A Y10 or Y11 will not seal in it.
Coach builders fit the RM as well as the RoadVac — Tiffin among them — so there are plenty on the road. Everything else carries over: the same 32 mm tool kits, the same VacPorts, inlet valves and fittings.

Identifying your unit
How do I tell a self-contained RoadVac from a piped one?
Follow the hose. If it plugs into the face of the vacuum itself, the unit is self-contained — a CS-6 or a CS-8. If it plugs into an inlet valve and the vacuum body is somewhere else in the coach, it is a piped system: a CS-9, CS-10, CS-RM or CS-RM-RC. Note the hose never plugs into a VacPort — a VacPort is a sweep-in door that replaces a dust pan.
What if I can't reach the unit at all?
Use the bag. Pull the dust bag out and count the openings on the cardboard collar. One opening is a Y10 and means a CS-6 or CS-8. Two openings is a Y11 and means a CS-9, CS-10, CS-RM or CS-RM-RC. That single test gets you the right consumables even if you never identify the exact model.
My vacuum says Dometic on it. Is it a RoadVac?
Yes. The Dometic CV1003 is a CS-6 or CS-8 under Dometic's name and takes the Y10-5. The Dometic CV1004 is a CS-9, CS-10 or CS-RM and takes the Y11-5. Same hardware, same bags, same tool kits, same parts.
What do the model numbers actually mean?
There are two sets and people mix them up. CS-6, CS-8, CS-9, CS-10, CS-RM and CS-RM-RC are the power unit model numbers. Y08, Y10, Y11 and Y20 are dust bag model numbers — the bag has its own model number, separate from the vacuum, and it is the one that decides whether a bag will seal. The digits after the dash are the pack size, so a Y10-5 is five Y10 bags plus a motor filter.
My coach has an InterVac but it is not a RoadVac. What is it?
Most likely an RM. The RM is a separate InterVac power unit that coach builders also fit — Tiffin among them. It is remote mounted like a CS-RM and looks similar, but it takes the Y08 bag rather than a Y10 or Y11, and it is rated to about 1,500 sq. ft. rather than 900. If the bag says Y08, you have an RM.
Mine is branded SeaVac or EquineVac. What is it?
Those are older InterVac names. SeaVac was the RM and EquineVac was the GarageVac — neither is a RoadVac, but both are InterVac units and we still support them. SeaVac and EquineVac take the Y08-5 bag, not a Y10 or Y11.
The vacuum starts on its own. What does that tell me?
That it has a circuit board, which narrows it to the CS-10, CS-RM or CS-RM-RC. A CS-9 has the same dual-inlet plumbing but no board, so you have to switch it on at the unit.
