InterVac RM
The other InterVac that ends up in a coach. A remote-mounted InterVac power unit — the same idea as a CS-RM but a bigger machine: 530 air watts against 414, and rated to about 1,500 sq. ft. rather than 900. Coach builders fit it as well as the RoadVac, so plenty of RVs have one.
- 530 air watts and up to 1,500 sq. ft., more than any RoadVac
- Takes the Y08 bag — a Y10 or Y11 will not seal
- Same 32 mm tool kits, VacPorts, valves and fittings as the RoadVac
Best for: Coaches fitted with an RM from the factory, and retrofits wanting more coverage. Takes the Y08-5 dust bag.

The InterVac RM power unit. It mounts remotely, out of the living space.

The RM is not a RoadVac. It is a separate InterVac power unit that coach builders also fit — Tiffin among them. Everything about owning one is the same as a RoadVac except the dust bag: the RM takes the Y08, and a Y10 or Y11 will not seal in it.

Cleaning points
Two ways to pick up dirt.
The RM is a piped system, so it takes both. An inlet valve is where the hose plugs in. A VacPort takes the place of a dust pan — open its door and the vacuum starts, then sweep the dirt straight into it and it travels down the pipe to the dust bag. No hose, no bending down.
The complete install kit, the A-950-X, is $65.96 and includes the LED VacPort, trim plate, elbow, coupling, sweep tee, 3 ft of hose, wire and nuts.

Consumables
The Y08 bag is the one that seals.
The RM takes the Y08-5 — five sealed HEPA-type bags and one motor filter. It is a different bag from either RoadVac bag: a Y10 or a Y11 will not seal in an RM.
Change the motor filter after every fifth bag, which is why one ships in every pack. Non-genuine bags and filters void the vacuum warranty.

No tools with your coach? That is normal. Plenty of RV builders fit the vacuum at the factory but leave the hose and tool kit out, because the kit is sold separately. Nothing is wrong with your system — you just need the kit. Any 32 mm kit fits.
RM questions
Common questions
Which dust bag fits the RM?
The Y08-5. It is the double-opening Y08 bag, sold in a pack of five with a motor filter. The other RoadVac bag will not seal in this unit, so check the opening count before you order.
Can I put a VacPort on a RM?
Yes. The RM is a piped system, so it takes the whole VacPort range in LED and non-LED, plus inlet valves. Remember they do different jobs: the hose plugs into an inlet valve, while a VacPort is a sweep-in door that replaces a dust pan.
What tool kit fits the RM?
Any 32 mm kit, which is all of ours. There is no per-model tool kit — the TK108-B, TK108-TB and TK108-TBM all fit, and so do the individual wands, hoses and floor tools. The remote-control kit, the TK-108-TB-RC, is the exception: it needs a matching receiver and fits only the CS-RM-RC.
How much area will a RM cover?
Up to 900 sq. ft., which covers any coach, and also a tiny home, a kitchen or a bath. Every RoadVac shares the figure — 414 air watts, 92 in. of sealed water lift and 107 CFM at maximum airflow.
The RoadVac range
- RoadVac CS-6 — for rigs on a tight power budget
- RoadVac CS-8 — the simplest install in the range
- RoadVac CS-9 — two inlets, no electronics
- RoadVac CS-10 — automatic, and the one coach builders specify
- RoadVac CS-RM — hide the power unit, keep the reach
- RoadVac CS-RM-RC — on and off from the handle
